About Me

Dr. Suarez-Almazor is Professor and Deputy Chair in the Department of General Internal Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. She is Head of the Section of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology. Dr. Suarez-Almazor is a physician and clinical epidemiologist, with an interest in CER/PCOR in patients with multiple chronic comorbidities, especially in patients with cancer and concomitant rheumatic and autoimmune conditions. She chairs the Survivorship Research Workgroup at MD Anderson, which organizes research and educational activities. She is the Principal Investigator in a R25 Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) grant to expand training in CER/PCOR in cancer research, in partnership with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Public Health.
